Tim O’Shea
At a young age, Tim O’Shea became convinced that he could read every book in his local library. He maxed out his library card time and again with a stack of books taller than he was. Conquering the card catalog, he mastered microfiche, CD-ROMs and eventually a green screen terminal system linked to the central library database.
Before long, he was calling numerous bulletin board systems (BBS) with his IBM PS/2 386 SX-16 and 24oo BAUD modem. Tim’s appetite for information continued to guide him deeper and deeper into technology. Eventually he found his way into a university Unix system and his first post on the Internet can still be enjoyed.
Tim’s passion for technology resulted in an undergraduate degree in information science and then a master’s from Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. While there he consulted for a a variety of clients in the hey day of the dot.com era as well as writing for Network Computing magazine.
Prior to relocating to Colorado, Tim worked several years in public broadcasting, most notably for Public Radio International. Following an engagement with Sun Microsystems during the merger with Oracle, the time was right to join the iSupportU crew. Tim is excited to provide his expert IT insights to the Boulder business community and beyond.
Tim has held a number of technical positions throughout his career and bring a varied background. He offers expertise in systems administration, systems architecture, information security, project management and digital asset management and distribution. Tim’s focus at iSupportU is corporate client support, consultation and cloud computing solutions for business.
